Fulfilling the scripture

Jesus, though God, humbled Himself by being born as a man, becoming a servant obedient to death on a cross. In return, God exalted Him above all, giving Him the highest name and authority. (Philippians 2:5-11)

Are humans living correctly?

Health & wellbeing

  • Chronic diseases: Rates of lifestyle-related illnesses, such as obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and mental health disorders, have significantly increased. This is linked to sedentary lifestyles, poor diets, and stress from modern life.

  • Mental health: Anxiety, depression, and loneliness are on the rise, especially in urban environments. Social isolation is becoming more common despite digital connectivity.

  • Sleep deprivation: Many people are experiencing poorer sleep quality due to longer work hours, screen time, and stress. This is impacting overall well-being and cognitive function.

Social dynamics

  • Erosion of community: Data shows a decline in face-to-face interactions and community engagement, with many people reporting fewer close friendships and lower levels of social trust.

  • Income inequality: Wealth and income disparities have widened globally, with many people feeling left behind or economically insecure, contributing to social unrest and dissatisfaction.

Technology and connectivity

  • Digital addiction: The increased reliance on smartphones and social media is contributing to anxiety, distraction, and reduced attention spans.

  • Overwork & burnout: While technology has improved efficiency, it's also blurred the line between work and personal life, leading to an "always-on" culture and burnout.

  • Decline in physical activity: With more time spent in front of screens and less outdoor activity, physical fitness levels have decreased for many, contributing to health problems.

Diet & Nutrition

  • Processed foods: Diets high in processed and fast foods have become prevalent, leading to nutrition-related health problems like obesity, heart disease, and diabetes.

  • Paleo and natural diets: As a response, there's been a rise in interest in natural, whole foods, such as the Paleo diet, in an effort to return to healthier, more balanced eating patterns.

Environmental disconnect

  • Urbanisation: As more people live in cities, there's a growing disconnect from nature. This urban lifestyle is linked to higher stress and less physical activity.

  • Environmental impact: Modern living, with its emphasis on consumption and convenience, has led to environmental degradation, deforestation, climate change, and a loss of biodiversity.

Happiness and life satisfaction

  • Wealth vs. happiness: While material wealth has increased globally, studies show it hasn't translated into higher happiness or life satisfaction. Many people feel stressed and overburdened despite material abundance.

  • Minimalism & simpler living: Trends like minimalism, eco-friendly living, and a return to nature suggest that many are seeking alternatives to the consumer-driven, high-stress modern life.

With an emphasis on living as naturally as humanly possible in the modern world, we travel, and we live lives more human.

Aren’t we happy human?
